Automatic Open-Close 3-Fold Umbrella
Three-section telescopic shaft with a spring mechanism that both opens and retracts the canopy by one button. The most mechanically complex personal umbrella: control head, return spring and opening spring all inside the shaft.
Structure
A 3-fold auto open-close umbrella combines a three-section telescopic shaft with a spring mechanism that opens the canopy and retracts it again. Inside the shaft sit a control head and a return spring; outside it, between the mid hub and the lower runner, sits the opening spring, with a closing spring between the top notch and the pull-cord sleeve. One press of the handle button releases the catch, the opening spring drives the runner up and the frame deploys. A second press releases the tube latches, the closing spring pulls the runner down and the shaft sections telescope in. Ribs are three-piece, main, middle and tail, with steel for the main and middle sections and usually fibreglass for the tail.

Shaft section preparation
Qinxi in-houseThree tube sections are cut, swaged, punched and finished, then deburred and cleaned. Section fit is verified dry before any mechanism goes in, because a burr here causes jamming later.

Top notch & main rib riveting
Qinxi in-houseThe top notch is riveted to the main ribs. Slot pitch and rivet tightness decide canopy symmetry and whether ribs work loose in service.

Rib & stretcher hinge assembly

Handle & auto mechanism assembly

Canopy cutting, printing & sewing
Supply-chain supportPanels are cut, printed and sewn, and the seams are waterproofed. Stitch holes that are not sealed are the main source of canopy leakage.
