    Pultrusion

    Supply chain / partners

    Glass fibre roving is pulled through resin and a heated die to form a constant-section rod. Fibre content and cure determine flexibility and break resistance.

    Curing & cut to length

    Rods are post-cured if needed and cut to rib length, typically 70-80 cm for a 60 inch golf umbrella.

    End forming & drilling

    Supply chain / partners

    Ends are formed or capped, then drilled for the notch and stretcher rivets. Fibreglass dust requires extraction and PPE.

    Finishing

    Colour is applied by gelcoat in the pultrusion or by painting afterwards; colour matching to the handle is a frequent buyer request.

    Wind flex verification

    Ribs are bent to a defined deflection and released, then a sample frame is fan or wind-tunnel tested. Fibreglass must flex and return rather than snap.

    • Wind resistance · Fan / wind tunnel at agreed speed (typ. 10 m/s or per buyer spec), no inversion or breakage · Per order
